ABOUT THE FILM

Indigenous people around the world are reclaiming long-forgotten ancestral traditions suppressed during centuries of colonialism. All across Canada, talented Indigenous artists are reviving tattoo practices and building upon traditional designs. Thought to have been lost forever, the return of traditional body art reflects a reawakening of cultural pride and identity. Travel across Turtle Island to explore the fascinating role that tattoos once played in various Indigenous cultures, and how they’re drawing generations together. This vivid and upbeat short film was named Best of BC at the Chilliwack Independent Film Festival and Best Documentary Short at the Calgary International Film Festival.
