ABOUT THE FILM

Can a film about rape, war and justice also inspire? The answer is yes when we meet a group of Rwandan village women who voiced the truth of what happened during the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. Their suffering is grievous but their fight for justice under sometimes dangerous circumstances is astonishing. Their testimony led to an important historical moment: the first international prosecution and conviction of rape as a crime of war. Along the way we the accused and a cast of villagers, researchers, lawyers, advocates and high powered judges. At centre stage the women of Taba who demonstrate the possibility of transformation.
