ABOUT THE FILM

The film follows a courageous group of young Afghan women who risk persecution to become world-class boxers, training without the benefit of even the most basic facilities. Inspired by their tenacious coach, they dream of winning medals for their country and even a shot at the 2012 Olympics. Over the course of a year, we come to know three of the boxers as individuals and as a team of competitors punching well above their weight. When winning a competition brings threats of violence along with media attention, the film shows the power of fighting for what you believe in.
