ABOUT THE FILM

Dr. Marion Diamond grabs our interest immediately, as she opens a lady-like flowered hatbox and pulls out a human brain. A delightfully warm and passionate teacher, she is eager to pass the spark of curiosity and discovery to anyone and everyone. In 1949 she became the first female graduate student in the anatomy department at Berkley. Undeterred by masculine resistance, she obtained her PhD and went on to make several brilliant pioneering discoveries about the brain. In her eighties, her face still glows with joy as she enthuses “Don’t you just love the brain?” After watching this multi-award-winning film, you, too, will say yes!
