ABOUT THE FILM

How much crap can one man stir up? Born in a Singapore slum, former entrepreneur Jack Sim – a.k.a. “Mr. Toilet” – is an eccentric crusader for global sanitation, battling constipated bureaucracies on behalf of two billion people who lack access to proper toilets. With a shoestring budget and relentless vigour, Sim has dedicated his life to a crisis no one wants to talk about. Founder of the World Toilet Organization, Sim cuts through cultural taboos with bathroom humour and ghastly statistics. This highly absorbing and informative film won the Docs for Schools Award at Toronto’s Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.
