ABOUT THE FILM
On the idyllic Greek island of Hydra, Leonard Cohen met his muse, Marianne Ihlen, who inspired many of his best-loved songs, and whose love and beauty he would never forget. Their relationship flourished through the ‘60s, but didn’t survive the success of Cohen’s musical career. The memory of their love endured for another half century, however, and when they died within months of one another in 2016, it was Leonard that Marianne asked for on her deathbed. Poignant and cathartic, this hauntingly affective film is essential viewing for Leonard Cohen fans and anyone who believes in the immortality of love.
