ABOUT THE FILM

A pioneering comedy legend, Gilda Radner (1946–1989) is famously remembered as the very first person Lorne Michaels hired for Saturday Night Live. Radner’s seemingly charmed life is reconstructed through recently discovered audio and videotapes documenting her career, her eating disorder, her relationship with Gene Wilder, and her battle with ovarian cancer. Finding humour in even the darkest of times, Radner’s diaries are read aloud by fellow comedians Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Melissa McCarthy and Bill Hader. This hilarious and heartbreaking posthumous autobiography was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards and won the Audience Award at Michigan’s Cinetopia Film Festival.
