ABOUT THE FILM
During the polarizing 2016 American election, one man sought to counter the alarming rise of Islamophobia by building bridges of friendship and mutual understanding. Egyptian-Canadian filmmaker Tarek Mounib came up with a bold idea: visiting Trump rallies to offer random Islamophobes a free trip to Egypt in order to get to know ordinary Muslims, the people they’d been taught to hate and fear. Frequently comical, occasionally horrifying and unexpectedly moving, this wildly engrossing adventure is a profound demonstration of the power of international travel and cross-cultural communication – not to mention the power of documentary filmmaking – to change the world.
