ABOUT THE FILM
How far would you go to realize your artistic vision? Ra Paulette is an environmental sculptor who digs cathedral-like, ‘eighth wonder of the world’ art caves into the sandstone cliffs of Northern New Mexico. Each one is elaborately designed and painstakingly executed, taking him years to complete. His driving artistic vision has brought him into conflict with his patrons, and most cut off his projects due to artistic differences. Taking the viewer deep into the creative process, this Academy Award nominated documentary short follows Ra as he decides to forego commissions altogether and create a massive, 10-year project, his Magnum Opus.
