ABOUT THE FILM
A conservative Punjabi family in small-town BC confronts a long-buried secret: three young sisters were sexually abused by an older relative. Years later they speak out and pursue justice, to protect other family members and to set an example for their own daughters. Intertwining home footage of the sisters as children with contemporary scenes of the strong, empowered women they have become, this moving tribute to women’s strength and resilience in the face of unfathomable familial trauma received an Honourable Mention for Best Canadian Documentary and was nominated for Best BC Film by the Vancouver Film Critics Circle.
