Bottled Life

Clean water should be a human right, but for Nestle, the giant Swiss transnational, selling bottled water generates 10 billion dollars a year. Res Gehriger and Urs Schnell take us to the US, Nigeria and Pakistan to find the truth behind Nestle's fastest growing line of business. We meet Americans whose water has been bought out from under them, Pakistanis whose village fountains now ooze nothing but sludge, and Nigerians who can’t afford to buy their own water back from Nestle. The company’s suspect business practices and unsubstantiated claims of social responsibility turn a trickle of unsettling information into a flood.
