Permaculture Garden Installations at western Kenyan primary schools are highlighted in this Seven Ravens short film. Salt Spring resident Michael Nickels discusses his involvement in reforestation projects throughout Kenya over the past 22 years, along with maximizing food and resource production using permaculture gardening methods on school grounds. The schoolyard transformations lead to the benefits of increased student enrolment levels and self-sustainable, healthy school lunch programs, providing a lifetime of opportunities for the children and families of the community which they would otherwise lack. Precedes screening of To Make a Farm. Filmmaker in attendance.
